Is it really a one-time payment?
Yes. $9.99 once, and Premium is yours permanently, including every future update. There is no subscription and no renewal — and there won't be one later either. ToDoFocus has no servers to pay for, so there's nothing to rent you.
What happens when my free trial ends?
Nothing is deleted. Projects you created beyond the free five stay visible, your folders keep grouping them, and every journal entry stays readable. You just can't add more until you upgrade — the limits come back, your work doesn't go anywhere.
Do you collect any of my data?
No. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. Your tasks, sessions, journal entries and settings live in your browser's local storage and never leave your device.
The single exception is Premium activation: your licence key is sent to our payment processor, Polar, to verify the purchase. That's the only outbound request the extension ever makes.
Does the timer keep running if I close the tab?
Yes. The countdown continues in the background and shows on your toolbar badge, and you'll get a chime and a notification when the session ends — whether or not the dashboard is open.
Which browsers does it work on?
ToDoFocus is available for Chrome and Microsoft Edge, each with its own store listing. It also runs on other Chromium browsers like Brave, Opera and Arc via the Chrome Web Store.
Firefox and Safari aren't supported yet. If you'd like to see one of them, say so at todofocushelp@gmail.com.
Does it work offline?
Completely. Everything runs locally, so the timer, tasks, heatmap and journal all work on a plane or behind a restrictive firewall. Only Premium activation needs a connection, once.
Can I get my data out?
Any time. Settings → Data → Export writes everything to a JSON file — sessions, tasks, projects, notes and journal entries — and Import restores it. Uninstalling the extension removes all of it from your device.
